What we found
The plumbing fault
The leak was traced to both the concealed toilet cistern and its flush-pipe connection inside the vanity unit. Continued use could have allowed more water into the surrounding cabinetry, floor and ceiling below.

AFS attended a Hinckley home on a bank holiday after water from the bathroom began coming through the ceiling below.

What we found
The leak was traced to both the concealed toilet cistern and its flush-pipe connection inside the vanity unit. Continued use could have allowed more water into the surrounding cabinetry, floor and ceiling below.
What AFS did
We isolated the water supply and made the toilet safe during the emergency visit. We returned the following day, removed the leaking equipment and installed a new concealed cistern system inside the existing vanity unit. The toilet, flush mechanism and connections were then tested for correct operation and leaks.
Useful guidance
If water starts coming through a ceiling, stop using the bathroom fitting above, isolate the nearest service valve or main stop tap if it is safe to do so, and arrange an urgent inspection. Water can travel beneath flooring before appearing downstairs, so the visible mark may not be directly below the fault.
“Helpful, friendly, efficient and excellent value. AFS is now my go-to plumber.”
