AFS attended a same-day emergency plumbing call-out in Broughton Astley after a toilet and drain became blocked.
What we found
The fault was traced to the property's main manhole, where a substantial obstruction was preventing wastewater from flowing through the drainage channel. Continuing to flush the toilet could have caused the water level to rise or back up at the property.
What AFS did
We accessed the main manhole, removed the obstruction and restored the drainage route. The channel was then checked with water flowing through it to confirm that the toilet and connected drain were clearing normally again before the emergency visit was completed.
Useful guidance
