Concealed cistern leak found during an evening emergency call-out
A Mountsorrel customer called at 8pm about an active leak. We first reviewed messages, photographs and video to try to diagnose the fault remotely and avoid an unnecessary emergency visit. When that was not possible, the price was explained clearly before attendance.
- After lifting lino and carpet, thermal imaging helped trace the water to a concealed toilet cistern.
- The flush cone seal on the flush pipe had perished, allowing water to escape out of sight.
- The toilet was isolated and disconnected from the flush button so the leak could not continue. With the property safe, the customer chose a booked return visit instead of higher-cost work at 10pm.
- A quotation was supplied the following day and a new comfort-height toilet and concealed cistern were installed on the booked return visit while retaining the existing vanity unit.
“The work was done efficiently and without fuss. There were no hidden surprises, and the finished job looked like a neat and professional installation.”
