AFS returned to a Glenfield customer after an ageing toilet syphon, identified during an earlier fill-valve repair, deteriorated further.

What we found
The toilet had become difficult to flush. After removing the cistern, we found heavy corrosion around the close-coupling assembly as well as the failed syphon.
What AFS did
We replaced the syphon together with the close-coupling bolts, metal plate and sealing washers rather than leaving worn parts in place. The toilet was reassembled, flushed repeatedly and checked for leaks.
Useful guidance
A toilet that is difficult to flush, continuously running or leaking between the cistern and pan may need more than one internal part. Replacing worn seals and fixings while the cistern is already removed can avoid another repair visit.
