What we found
The plumbing fault
Both fittings had worn components. The cistern needed to be removed from the wall to reach the leaking fixings, and its older fill and flush valves were likely to cause further faults.

After moving into a Glenfield home, the customer found water leaking beneath the bathroom basin and from the toilet cistern fixing bolts.

What we found
Both fittings had worn components. The cistern needed to be removed from the wall to reach the leaking fixings, and its older fill and flush valves were likely to cause further faults.
What AFS did
We replaced the leaking basin pop-up waste and renewed the cistern seals and bolts. While the cistern was removed, we also installed new fill and flush valves before reassembling and testing both fittings for leaks.
Useful guidance
When a cistern must already be removed for a leak repair, renewing visibly worn internal components at the same time can be more cost-effective than dismantling it again after the next fault.
